About Us

     Essential Care Family Medicine is a new medical practice started by Dr. Marcus Koss M.D. He is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with 20yrs experience.  He provides high quality care to patients of all ages, from children to geriatrics. Our office is dedicated to providing comprehensive care in an outpatient setting that fosters a real partnership between patients and their physician. Our office will be enrolling in several insurance based programs that facilitate closer care and higher standards than typical offices.

      Our dedicated staff members are all highly trained; from our office manager/certified biller, to our certified medical assistant. One of the benefits of our office is our use of the electronic health record called AthenaHealth. This system helps us improve our connection with our patients as well as with their insurances and local healthcare systems. The "patient portal" through AthenaHealth provides our patients with access to their medical records, lab results, provides the ability to request medication refills, ask medical questions and make bill payments. This system allows for more rapid responses and keeps you updated on upcoming appointments and results. Overall, our system helps keep our practice and your health care needs fully connected.

      While our focus is on your outpatient healthcare needs, Dr. Koss has partnered with the specialized care of several Hospitalist and Family Medicine Residency Program physicians for the inpatient hospital care you may require at many of the local hospital systems. These providers are also board certified and stay in close contact to coordinate your continued care with our office. Our plan as a new office is to grow by adding additional primary care providers to provide even more availability for care through our office.
